Features: Situated
on a shady street just off Paseo Colon, San Jose's main
thoroughfare, Hotel Grano de Oro is a true oasis; a
sanctuary in the heart of a bustling city. Converted from a
tropical Victorian mansion, the hotel maintains the warmth
and comfort
of a private home. The hotel's charming atrium terrace and
corridors have sparkling fountains and lush tropical planting.
The rooftop deck offers soothing Jacuzzis and a
spot for secluded sunbathing. The restaurant at the Grano de
Oro is one of San Jose's finest, serving continental cuisine
in an intimate atmosphere. Service here is paramount and the
perpetually smiling staff continually welcomes guests.
Room Types: Vista
de Oro Suite- The piece de resistance is the
hotel's Vista de Oro Suite. Reached by a private staircase,
the suite lives up to its name commanding a

tiles cover the walls and are
complemented by rich wood paneling. A series of delicate
cabinets stretches the entire length of the room and
special lighting illuminates antiques.
Garden
Suite- This spacious suite offers a Jacuzzi tub in the
bathroom as well as a small sitting room, which opens to a
private tropical garden.
Family

in one room and a queen bed in the second room, comfortably
house up to 5 people.
Deluxe- The most spacious of our three "room"
categories, all deluxe rooms have a bathtub/shower
combination and either one queen and one twin bed, two queen
beds, or a king-size bed.
Superior- While a bit smaller than the deluxe rooms, most superior
rooms have a bathtub/shower combination and a queen bed.
Standard- The smallest and least expensive of the rooms, standard
rooms offer cozy quarters with a queen bed and private
bathroom with shower.
Review: Hotel
Grano de Oro features thirty-two rooms of various styles,
as well as three signature suites. All rooms are
furnished in tropical Victorian styles with wrought-iron
beds and rich damask fabrics in three jeweled color schemes- navy, burgundy and forest-green. The decor and furniture
are handcrafted by Costa Rican artists. No two rooms are
alike. Private baths are blue and white Italian tile adorned
with gleaming brass fixtures. All rooms are designated as
smoke-free, with smoking permitted in the restaurant,
gardens and common areas.
